The Race: Start Well

highcalling The Race: Start Well

You have to stop for a second and think really don’t you? It’s the final week in February and it seems like the other day  was New Year. That means the second month in this year is about to conclude and we now have 10 months to go in the year 2010. Wao, it’s exciting!

A new year always starts with new dreams, desire and aspirations but obvisously as the year begins, different issues start to play and though things may have been planned out very well, they may very well go a totally different path.

This is the reason we need to be aware of The Race, making sure we start well so that come what may, our divinely planned dreams and aspirations doesn’t die a death even in the early days of conception.

A good question to ask is what are my dreams and aspirations based on? Why ask this question you may think? Well, it’s because if the foundation of all you call a new year plan which is intended to bring about a change in your life is not stable, then there is obviously a problem. So, it’s wise to conclude that the foundation of our plans and aspirations cannot be shallow or for better use of words “your plans cannot have little depth”. Anything that you can’t take with you to eternity is very shallow and requires you to re-focus and get the foundation very solid so that it will stand now and for eternity to come.

There was a parable told about a foolish man who built his house on sand but the house could not stand when wind and rain came. Equally, another man built on solid rock and his house stood the test of the turbulent weather and time, we should be like such building on solid grounds in all we do.

All in all, we have a race to run and there will be distractions on the way so we need to be prepared to handle them with what’s necessary. The only way to do this is ensure that we start the race well equipped and asking the right questions because there is a race made for us individually and the race was defined before you were born. Why not ask the one who made you for directions on how to build a solid foundation so that you can start well?
