Your Race – Stop Check
Memories of several challenges, issues or drama I have been through in life came running through my mind recently and I suddenly realise how much God has been faithful. It suddenly dawns on me that in all ways, I come out on top and it must have been God that has enabled me go through each challenge, conquering them as I run the race.
A greater understanding of Psalm 23 verses 4 and 5 “4Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me. 5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over” is better appreciated when I count the blessings, the winnings and name them one by one.
So, the other day I was encouraging a brother on a particular issue that seemed like hell to him. I had tried giving him several testimonies of past challenges that God had dealt with and were no more in my life some of which where so close to what he was experiencing, but sadly he didn’t really appreciate them but rather continued to complain bitterly. As he left me, knowing that the things that I said to him may not have really made a difference, I had a call back from him within the hour telling me of a lady he met on the street who for some reason opened up to him about challenges she was going through. With this being a random act, he couldn’t understand how she was still standing after listening to her and then encouraging her. His conclusion after this experience was that his situation was so small compared to the lady that he shouldn’t complain at all.
As we both laughed at his conclusion that he aught to thank God since he had no issues if compared to others, I realised God’s sense of humour in the whole thing. While we feel we are going through hell, or we are being mocked, we really don’t know what another person is going through. Some issues in life are clear to see in people’s life and a lot more are not physically visible. If yours is one that others can see, I assure you that there are huge numbers out there that are not seen but are bigger mountains for the people going through them. What’s clear is that He that created all existence will ensure the testimony come through at the end.
Myself and my friend have realised that we are winning in this race of life, in the manoeuvrings that may or may not come. Folks, I would implore you not to look at the race of others when it looks like all is well as what you see may not really be the actual situation. Rather focus on God because your testimony is just round the corner, stay strong, stay connected to the source and see God do wonders in your race.

Going through posts on this blog has helped in refreshing and reminding me of a lot of great teachings and learning and needed to share a few with you. We need to consistently renew our minds on areas such as Salvation, Righteousness, Forgiveness, Fruits of the Spirits, Consecration to name a few.
