World History & The Holy Bible (Legs of Iron)
4. Legs of Iron: In 168 B.C., it was the Roman Empire’s turn.
Daniel 2:40, And the fourth kingdom [Rome] shall be strong as iron, since iron breaks to pieces and subdues all things; and like iron which crushes, it shall break and crush all these.
In 168 B.C., it was the Roman Empire’s turn to enact its supreme rule upon the region. Prophetically speaking, iron perfectly symbolizes this kingdom: its military strength and discipline, its domination over many conquered nations, its laws imposed on all people far and wide. Every aspect of this nation was like the strength and endurance of iron. This kingdom reigned until A.D.476. In fact the fall of this kingdom is VERY important to Bible Prophecy. It sets up what we see today in fact.
Considered one of the most successful imperial powers in history. In the course of centuries Rome grew from central Italy into a vast empire that ultimately embraced England, all of continental Europe, most of Asia west of the Euphrates, northern Africa, and the islands of the Mediterranean. Unlike the Greeks, who excelled in intellectual and artistic endeavours, the Romans achieved greatness in their military, political, and social institutions. Roman society, during the republic, was governed by a strong military ethos. While this helps to explain the incessant warfare, it does not account for Rome’s success as an imperial power. Unlike Greek city-states, which excluded foreigners and subjected peoples from political participation, Rome from its beginning incorporated conquered peoples into its social and political system. Allies and subjects who adopted Roman ways were eventually granted Roman citizenship. During the principate, the seats in the Senate and even the imperial throne were occupied by persons from the Mediterranean realm outside Italy. The lasting effects of Roman rule in Europe can be seen in the geographic distribution of the Roman languages (Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian), all of which evolved from Latin, the language of the Romans. The Western alphabet of 26 letters and the calendar of 12 months and 365.25 days are only two simple examples of the cultural legacy which Rome has bequeathed Western civilization.
It is said that the Roman Empire was never destroyed by any particular kingdom, rather several parts of it was taken down at different times. Its worth pointing out now the significance of the next part of the dream as God showed Daniel.
World History & The Holy Bible (Feet of Iron & Clay)
5. The World Today
|
Daniel 2:41-45 (Amplified Bible) 41And as you saw the feet and toes, partly of [baked] clay [of the potter] and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it some of the firmness and strength of iron, just as you saw the iron mixed with miry [earthen] clay. 42And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of [baked] clay [of the potter], so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle and broken. 43And as you saw the iron mixed with miry and earthen clay, so they shall mingle themselves in the seed of men [in marriage bonds]; but they will not hold together [for two such elements or ideologies can never harmonize], even as iron does not mingle itself with clay. 44And in the days of these [final ten] kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break and crush and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever.(A) 45Just as you saw that the Stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. The dream is certain and the interpretation of it is sure. 45Just as you saw that the Stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter. The dream is certain and the interpretation of it is sure. |
From what I understand, the Roman Empire is pretty much in every part of the world today because no one kingdom really took them over and the previous kingdoms before them had already built the foundation of a global world by their conquest of nations near and far away from them. History shows that the actual Roman kingdom due to several wars, rebellions and many other factors within itself was divided into:

1. The Saxons, originating the English nation.
2. The Franks, originating the French nation.
3. The Alamanni, originating the German nation.
4. The Visigoths, originating the Spanish nation.
5. The Suevi, originating the Portuguese nation.
6. The Lombards, originating the Italian nation.
7. The Burgundians, originating the Swiss nation.
8. The Heruli, who have since disappeared.
9. The Vandals, who have since disappeared.
10. The Ostrogoths, who have since disappeared.
As we know each of these also went on to colonise nations across the world and pretty much divided the nations of the world amongst themselves. Rome’s existence is everywhere if you bother to investigate or research the issue.
Let’s look at a few;
Symbols: Daily, we see several symbols that are directly connected to the Romans but most of us do not realise the history of such symbols.
The USA and many countries for example use the eagle on their national or military flags and emblems just like the Romans used the eagle the same way in their time.
Another item called Fasces was used by the Romans to preserve peace or handle punishment and this same item is used today to do the same across the world.
An olive branch was heavily used by the Romans to present peace to their enemies and today we still do the same via the same symbols. The UN’s flag and many offices of government and power across the world still use the an olive branch as the Romans did.
Calendars: The Romans helped shape the calendar we use today and each month up to August was named after something. September to December were the only ones that meant the 9th month, 10th month till December the 12th month.
Language: Most of what we call English and other languages across the world has a Latin influence and once again, it’s due to the large influence in our world today.
Just so we can stay in the path we started out with, the above where mentioned to let you know that Rome, though may be officially no more, it’s part of every modern society today. It confirms the biblical prophecy of the Feet of Iron and Clay as we see Rome disintegrate and mingles across the world mixing with all human kind. A good study of our laws, buildings, policies and many other aspects of governance is still Rome.
6. The need for Global Unity begins
The need for Global Unity Begins
The Need for Global Unity Begins…….
Although the world continues to live in similar but different cultures as history has shown, the people of the world still remain but flesh. The mode of living changed since 9/11 and is still changing today but are their indicators to where we are as the bible have predicted?
It is important to note at this stage what Daniel said in Daniel 2: “44And in the days of these [final ten] kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people; but it shall break and crush and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever”
What final ten kings I imagine some will ask? well there are many school of thoughts to answer that question because of Europe which at some point was divided into ten and also the United Nations dividing the world into ten regional blocks North America, Central America and Caribbean, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Mediterranean and Middle-East, Africa, North-East and South Asia, South-East Asia, Australia and Pacific. Once again, the focus is the signs of the times that we are in and as of today, we do have 10 regions as divided by the United Nations.
Global Warming is a central spot for all human who live on this earth should be concerned of hence the Kyoto agreement which started out in 1997 and was in full effect by 2005. Currently (Dec 7 – December 18 2009) the world leaders or their representatives are meeting in Copenhagen to discuss why we need to work together.
Key players have been seeking reasons for a global society and I believe the climate change is one that will force this to happen. Going through research I found the video below.
This series will be updated as events unfold…………………………….
