Last Curtain Call
One of the world’s greatest musicians had planned to attend an international show in UK. All plans set in place and according to the media, it was recorded that he said ‘this is my last curtain call’. Little did he know that what he said was literally true.
The first lady of an african nation was preparing for her 60th birthday. It was planned to be a national party, she flew to Paris and then while in Spain, was calling around to ensure all invites had gone out, little did she know that was the last curtain call for her. She dies before the day of her birth, all resources planned for the celebration was now used for the burial.
God doesn’t slack on his promise, since he said he will come back, he definitely will come back.
This world is a stage, everyone is an actor and everyone has roles to play. Some of us act other people’s roles that we are not called into even though there is a script given to us by God.
Jesus said to Peter that ‘the enemy has decided to sift you’, was Peter about to act out someone else’s role? Is it possible that Judas played a role that wasn’t his? After all the betrayer of Jesus was unnamed until Judas placed himself in the role?
Looking around us we can see signs of the end times, Jesus is coming however is it not possible that his coming may be sooner for some than others? When will your last curtain call be? Tonight? You never know.
A lady, just married and expectant, on her way to work one fine morning, waiting for a cab in front of a local bank, got fired at mistakenly. Getting up that morning, she nor her husband never expected that day to be her last. Unexpected arrows flying and pestilence ongoing in our daily life, would you know when your last curtain call is?
God has written a story and has chosen each of us to play our roles. Saul didn’t play his role well, he was replaced. Samson didn’t play his role well, he was replaced, Vashti didn’t play her role well, she was replaced but Jesus played his role well, Elijah played his role, Esther played her role, David played his role well, are you going to play your God given role or act up someone else’s?
