Panic Attack!

Reflecting on a teaching I heard at Jesus House by Pastor Mark on the 3rd of March 2010, I went away with a conviction that the signs and happenings we see today in the world is alarming enough to give one a severe panic attack.

The second coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is certain to happen, and will happen when no man knows. I have heard of movie houses trying to depict the events that will occur when the world comes to an end, the movie that seems to have made some form of impact is called 2012 where the world is being predicted to end in Dec, 2012.

Quoting Pastor Mark, ‘ALL IS A LIE’. No man knows when the world will end, but the BIBLE, the HOLY SCRIPTURES, the ONLY TRUE BOOK, lists a series of events for us all to watch out for as signs of the end of this world. Every one is trying to analyze and prove what isn’t. As a result, most of us are under panic attacks, runing around and hoping we get all we want before the world ends. The sadest thing is that the signs of the end does not leave the church out of its series of events, it clearly says that part of what will happen before Jesus arrives is that many false teachings and doctrines will be the state of play, loving God and others will be a difficult thing for us in the last days, disobedience, strife and overly love of self will be the order of the day, these are few signs that will come to pass and are evident before the second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

So, why the panic attack? Could it be that we are not ready as a church for his coming? Are we  so distracted with what we want to be distracted with so when we hear news that should seemingly exite us that the Lord is coming as confirmed by the Bible, we are not happy and panic because we know that if the Lord comes now, this minute, this sec, are we sure we will make it with him?

Let’s be real with ourselves, God cannot be mocked, our lifestyles: believer or not,  in and out of church deceives one person only and that person isn’t God, its YOU and ME. Those who are truly grounded in the knowledge, understanding and wisdom of  God clearly stated in the Bible are those who will truly ready, waiting and hoping that every second on this earth counts towards the kingdom of God.
