Jesus Hold Me Now….

God knowsDo you feel alone, all by yourself, in life struggles? Does it seem as if you have not heard from God in awhile? Are you in a place that seems like the only way out is for God to actually find you?

This song is one of Casting Crowns songs I go to whenever I feel like any of the above. It’s lyrics are apt for this present time and situation that so easily besets us. I am sure it will lift you up as it does me.

Living on my own, thinking for myself
Castles in the sand, temporary wealth
Now the walls are falling down
Now the storms are closing in
And here I am againJesus, hold me now
I need to feel You in this place
To know You’re by my side
And hear Your voice tonight
Jesus, hold me now
I long for Your embrace
I’m beat and broken down
I can’t find my way out
Jesus, hold me nowCourse this morning sun, drags me into one more day
Of reaping what I’ve sown, living with my shame
Welcome to my world, and the life that I have made
One day you’re a prince, and the next day you’re a slaveLord, I just looked up today
And realized how far away I am from where You are
I don’t know what else to pray
Broken at Your feet I lay
The life I’ve torn apart
Jesus, hold me now
Jesus, hold me now
Jesus, hold me now
Jesus, hold me now
Dear friends, if you find yourself here, there is always second chances with God. Never walk away from him, no matter what it is or where you are. His arms are always open, he is our God.
Talk to him, as simply as you can, trust me, he is waiting.

Know What You Are Aiming At

Happy New Month Dear Friends,

Starting a new month (a few days in already) and being aware that we have just 1 more month before the year 2013 closes its curtains. If you are like me, I am in that zone of reflecting, evaluating and running through my checklist for 2013. I have achieved some things, some remain outstanding. This piece below is from a devotional I thought to share with you, just incase you are in the place that I am. Be blessed as you read.

‘And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we, an incorruptible crown’1 Cor. 9:25 KJV

You need to discipline yourself spiritually because there is something you are looking for. There is a direction you are going. There is a goal you want to achieve. You are targeting something. It is difficult to embrace discipline if there is no goal you are pursuing. Therefore, you must know what you are aiming at otherwise you will live carelessly. Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18 KJV).

What do you want to achieve by the end of the year? You still have about 7 and half weeks to go. How far do you want to go? What do you want to achieve as a Christian in the coming year? Look at 2014; what target are you setting for your business, family, career and ministry? What do you wnat to achieve next year? Until you answer these questions, you cannot be focussed in life.

You need to have a direction for your life and a goal you are aiming at so that when you get there, you will know that you are there. You can’t be shooting aimlessly and expect that you will get somewhere.

Are all your efforts aimed towards reaching your set goals? What financial results are you shooting at? If you are building a house, how far do you want to go with that building? If you intend to go for a course, when will it be or what date and time have you set for yourself? What are your strategies? What are your plans? What are you doing to realize your plans? Stop following the crowd. Stop moving up and down without really knowing what you want to achieve. Aim your life at something.

“But I keep my body under and bring it to subjection; lest that by any means, when I preached to others, I myself should be a cast away” 1 Cor. 9:27 KJV

May the Lord show us a clear path, fill us with discipline and zeal to pursue the goal and may we arrive at that goal, in Jesus’s Name, Amen!

A song for YOU- Families of the victims in DANA Crash

Casting Crowns is a band that goes a long way to ensure they minister effectively to the hearts and souls of people. I love their albums and listening to this song- “Praise you in the Storm” – again reminded me of the families and friends who lost loved ones through the tragedies befalling Nigeria.

Please be encouraged by this song, our hearts with prayers, are with you.

“I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth”

[Chorus x2]
